Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”

This is the essence of bodyboardingAn extraordinary documentary, by Jorge Baggio. No comments. Must see! Featuring amazing footage of Jose Otavio during his trip to Chopo, where he paddled out one of the biggest swells ever. Definitively, a RESPECT-ful rider.

By Simon Murphy:
Last Sunday Roo dog, Eugene and myself went on a mission for waves and ended up finding a fun lil slab throwing out some nice small barrels in the light onshore breeze. Coming into summer now its hit n miss to get the 6 ft plus sessions we re used to in winter but hey the waters warming up, suns out, birds are chirping and was just the boys out on a sundy arvo....until next time”

Over the last years Simon has become one of the most regular users of Santa Marina´s left, having got very powerful sessions @ the island, sometimes with no one out. Anyone who had seen the wave immdiately knows why it is, as Wannasurf would say, only for pros or kamikazes. Here a little example (all footage by Santa Marina Pictures)

Although Sopelana is a very consistent beach break, it´s hard to get good barrells. However, Jon Ander grew up with this wave and he really knows how to move on.
... and finally there was show. Fabio Rodrigues, our Brazilian loco a.k.a. Macaco, achieved the 3rd place on the third event of the IBA World Tour. Unfortunately, he was defeated by the 6x World Champion Guilherme Tamega, by no more than 0,75 points. But it doesn´t stop here. Rui Ferreira and Emiliano Tabaré both scored the #9 place. Certainly a RESPECT-ful show!
